Iran film ‘The Servant’ awarded at Brazil festival

Iranian film ‘The Servant’ has won the award for Best Short Film at the 13th edition of Fantaspoa - International Fantastic Film Festival in Brazil.

Iranian film ‘The Servant’ has grabbed Best Short Film title at the 13th edition of Fantaspoa - International Fantastic Film Festival in Brazil.

Directed by Farnoush Abedi, the animation tells the tale of a giant cockroach who gets tired of being a servant.

The film previously won the Best Animation award at the 33rd Tehran International Short Film Festival, which was held from November 8-14, 2016, in Tehran.

Created in 2005, Fantaspoa - International Fantastic Film Festival of Porto Alegre was the pioneer festival dedicated to bringing fantastic films to Brazil.

Fantaspoa is a 17 day festival, using 4 screening rooms and exhibiting over 100 films yearly.

The Brazilian festival contains several categories, including Short Film Competition (subdivided into live-action/animation and national/international), Ibero-American Feature Film Competition and International Competition.

The 13th Fantaspoa - International Fantastic Film Festival was held from May 19 to June 4, 2017.
